Mixed media pieces often combine both found and artist-made objects and materials.  Sometimes these pieces are three-dimensional, sometimes not. Installation art uses sculptural materials and other media to modify the way we experience a particular space. Installation art can be nearly any scale, and can be constructed indoors or out.  Site specific installations are works that are created in response to a particular place.
